I am reading a novel. The first actual you-can-buy-it-in-store Novel I have read in nearly two years. No, that's not the real news. The news is : IT IS NOT ON PAPER. That's right, it's an e-book. And I'm reading it on my shiny new SONY READER. For those of you who Don't know what that is: www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/servlet/Produc Excuse me, I'm going back to my book now. October 24th, 2008: Writer's Block: The Final Frontier Not that different. It was only a TV show. Sure it had an influence, but in the grand scheme of things, not as much as people seem to think. After all, Roddenberry didn't INVENT science fiction. Stop pretending he did. Tags: gene roddenberry, star trek, writer's block May 22nd, 2008: A reason to keep the X-box 360 connected to the main TV Bell Canada (joining iTunes Canada and X-Box Live) is now selling downloads of movies and TV series (legal d/ls in Canada finally!). And apparently I can stream it from my computer to the TV through the X-Box. *looks through listings* ... Now if only they had something I actually wanted to watch. : / April 25th, 2008: My first Con This weekend I'm heading to the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo. I've never been to anything like this before. Tricia Helfer, George Takei, Kevin Sorbo, and Micheal Rosenbaum are going to be there! I'd like to see if I can get a photo with at least one (Tricia preferably). February 22nd, 2008:
God I hate wrong numbers. "Who am I speaking to? What number is this?" How rude is that? That is personal information you don't need. Just ask for the person you are looking for, if it's right, THEN identify YOURSELF. If it's a wrong number, hang up and try again. ![]() The telephone has been around for more than a century. You'd think people would learn the proper etiquette. Current Mood: January 28th, 2008:
It is C-O-L-D today. Wind Chill of -45 C. that's -49F to you south of the border. Nobody is going anywhere today. January 16th, 2008: My back loves me again I have a new matress. 8 inches of memory foam. It is comfortable. I didn't want to get out of bed this morning. I went back after my kids were out of the house. Slept until about 40 min. before I had to go get the little one. Used to be if I did that, I would wake up with a massive headache. Not this time. September 20th, 2007: $1CAN = $US This morning, sometime around 11 AM (according to the Bank of Canada)the Canadian dollar was worth more than the US dollar for the first time in nearly 31 years. >_> <_< ... My oldest went back to school yesterday. Yay! His friends were driving me crazy all summer. When you have up to five eight- and nine-year old boys coming over at all hours in your house that are not yours... you get the picture. On the upside, my kid learned to say, "No, I don't want to play with you today" by the end of the summer. Now I'm just waiting for Playschool to start next week. Current Mood: July 22nd, 2007:
My dear husband found "the book" at the local drugstore. Now he's holding it hostage. "Do some housework!" Like I don't work all day taking care of his kids. I mowed the lawn yesterday, pruned what I could reach of the half-dead tree branches the day before, he can give me the damn book. After I sweep the living room floor. July 21st, 2007:
Walked into the post office today and... nothing. Either my husband picked it up on the way to work, or it didn't come. July 17th, 2007:
